Just had my 1.0 12v replaced with a 1.4 16v and everything is now up and running except from the speedometer. Any ideas what could have caused this, going to check the wire 2nite that goes to the back of the head unit as i had this problem a while back and that was the problem. Any ideas what else could cause this?

first off wrong forum.
next, I might be wrong but the gearbox has a sender unit on it with a cable coming from it, this goes up through the firewall and then into the back of the dials.
What you want to check obviously is this cable (if I'm correct) at the gearbox end and the dash end (it may of fallen out)

do different gearboxes has different senders on them eg manual etc

what colour will the wire be, the new engine is an x14xe

chances are the speedo will be electronic so you need new clocks
