its easier than putting it into a mk2 Golf i know that much you need- engine,
gearbox,
loom - not sure what loom a bora uses
ecu,
transponder and key,

its a pretty major job puttin a 20vT into any VW that dont have it as standard, however the engine bay of a mk4 golf and a bora are identical, so theres no need for fabrication it should already have power steering and abs in the bora too so pretty straightforward, wiring should be a doddle too

I dont know why people keep saying that i have a guide on how to fit a 1.8 T into a mk2 and it seems piss easy. You can even can a wirring loom pre made for it. Also i know of someone whos done one and one to his bros MK1 and he told me it was childs play.

All you need more or less is

1.8 T
Intake manifold and TB
Exhaust manifold and turbo
intake trunking
exhaust down pipe
anlternaotr and bracket
PAS pump and pulley
bottom rad hose
boost control valve
modified engine harness

Aditonal stuff you need is

Filter
Sprinter intercooler
mk2 sachs clutch friction plate plate
16 v pressure plate
mk2 throttle cable
various coolant hoses
charge pipes
g60 engine mount
and two other rad hoses

but you get the idea its pretty piss easy IMO

You can actualy send away the 1.8T loom to QP Engineering who make a plug and plau loom or you could do what my mates bro did and make ur own.

I looked into this in great detail as i wanted to attept this with a mate

i aint saying its rock hard to put into a mk2 engine but in a bora the engine bay is identical so everythings in place whereas in a mk2 it aint and theres a load of messing on geting things into place...from what im told

you see thats a myth i know for a fact it just drops in with the G60 mount in place and also they use the 8v/16v mk2 g.box so no other mounts are needed.

which means you cant put it on a 5000/52 on it, much more impresive in JBS autodesigns, who will work it to use the original VW ECU and only gen VW parts the whole way through the converison

i think the way to do it would be just to get the einge and box into the car and then see wtf needs to be done

someone quoted him 10k to do it... i told him under no circumstances to pay that... cos he was actually considering it..

Plug and play

FPMSL

you have no idea about the can-bus system on the bora/golf..

yes it will be easier to fit the 1.8t lump into a mach 1/2/3 golf or any older car because they dont use the can-bus sytem.

the thing with putting it into a bora is that you will HAVE to use the dashpod oem ecu and loom if you still want the immobiliser to work and to still have access to the obd fault codes..
this means that the car will have to be plugged into a 5051/52 with a connection to volkswagen online to be able to recode the immobiliser control unit in the dash pod, adapt the engine control unit to the ecu. other parts of the engine need re-adapting if the ecu is disconnected/replaced..

plug and play my arse

what matt said

like i say i theres no way of gettign the dash pod to work without using the original ECU as far as im concerd, unless you run a piggyback with a DTA controlling the car, and the original ECU working the dash cluster, and the immob etc, fuckign difficult anyway

still wanting to go to classic ford show

you'll have to give the car immune supressents for a while till the transplant takes but it should go in no problem
