I think thats one way but on some cars you can adjust it (a bit) at the base of your handbrake in the actual car. you have to take off some gromits and then turn a clicker or something. The other way is in the actual drum but i will assume you wont wanna do that.
This might not be a lot of help but i did it before on another vauxhall and it was tons easier and quicker than any of the cable adjusters uder the car or in the drum. Someone who reads this is bound to know what im on about, just ask them....

yes, removing the grommet will release the cable and link from handbrake.

James, pull handbrake up 4 notches before adjusting the part underneath the cross member, then check that each rear wheel needs considerable force to turn it, then release handbrake and make sure wheels spin freely.

sorry to jump on your thread but thought i would save makign a new thread...

basically does anyone know just under where the actually hand brake lever is under the car theres a S shaped brakcet that holds the hand brake cable and a small bar from the hand brake lever together, well the hand brake bar that connects to one end of the S shaped bracket keeps popping out when i pull the hand brake up. anyone know what i can do to solve this??

i can see kinda how a bolt can be tightened on the side close to the camera. is this right?

does that do both sides or do i need to do something the other side too?

im really quitre confused by this job

o, and dannie i think its pretty def i will fail the mot. can anyone confirm that a blowing exhaust is a fail?

James, if exhaust fumes are blowing anywhere except the tailpipe, its a fail.

you have to turn the threaded rod inside the casing. it is easy if you get under and have a look at it, this will tighten up both sides evenly
