Ive purchased a Alpine 9853R

Will it need a live feed to the battery ?

You dont have to but think it says you should. I never bothered with ma alpine.... worked fine..

Its supposed to be better to wire it directly to the battery as Alpine headunits draw more power than other makes. Wont harm to do it

so basically i would cut the red wire on the iso block and run that wire straight to the battery ? ?

The new alpine 2005 units do not need to have a new live put straight to the battery. The new units are 4x50w, and have the V drive removed.

The unit has the equivalent of a capacitor in a small box on the cable coming out of the back of the unit that takes care of things. I have the 9855r.

i have this headunit n it works fine as richie said only problem is the motors gone after a month of owning it

i have the same problem john, as does monkeymagic.

Mines going back next week, its happening on and off. If you give the faceoff a swift tap downwards from the top, it should start moving again.

mine is fine without a feed straight to the battery

hopefully my motor isnt going to go aswell :S
