0-60 and mid speed acceleration affected mostly, top end mainly affected by aerodynamic efficiency. Corsa is like a brick, astra has higher top end i think

Bah, nothing in it, and I raced plenty of XE corsas! I bet a stripped out one is quite noticably quicker, but unless its Jr/AK styleee then the difference is not noticeable

15.2 @ 90mph

60 foot time of 2.4

someone post times of standard corsa with an XE?

GTE weights differ greatly with models with ABS, PAS, the champion edition even had leather in...

i'd prefer the XE in a GTE

GTE was a proper motor in its day, Corsa has always been labelled as a girls car and was launched by Ruby Wax

tellin me!

I was exiting a wet roundabout this morning and the back end just decided it didnt want to hold on any more!!

The suspension geometery is prehistoric!

though it probably doesnt help that I have eagles at the front and some gypsy road chump tyres on the rear!!

I have recently fitted front and rear strut braces which have helped!

corsa chassis is terrible though, much more wobbly feel to them and i have only ever driven them with engines up to 1.4 16v sport...

A big block in the front = expensive suspension a must have item!

my chassis feels fine on my t-reg year corsa with xe in, in fact cat notice and flex or disapointment

xe is worth it expect problems but u have to do it with open mind even very last xe off production line is about 13 years old so i dont really no what ppl expect, mine is a gem of an engine and runs sweeter thatn my old engines quieter and smoother so look for good one if possible i did have few probs

my conversion if u include brakes and coilovers was near 2000 grand but i also used m-tech short shift, silicone hose kit from cossvaux etc and replaced alot of parts on engine. waterpump/cambelt etc

performance in my experience of my xe corsa so far is equal to st170/equal to civic typre R/ beat saxo vts/beat 106 gti/ right up as of big merc unsure of model/ beat non turbo mr2's/keep with clio 172 an 182's bout is beating loads of small cars but dont count them hiope this helps

if you like corsas and want one with a respectable amount of poke, do it. If you want a proper quick car that has good handling as well and your trying to fill the void by putting an XE in your corsa, save your money.

So far its cost me £300 for the cav, which i made back selling parts, plus selling my recliners for the leather the cav had made me another £450.

Fitting kit £150 but sent the wrong mount!

Will need some shaft rubbers and grese too, and the usuall stuff like engine oil and gearbox oil.

So in the end i was around £400 up, although not anymore as i spent in on shite when i was with the ex

Mine set me back getting on for 2k but that is with mtech fiting kit and was a drive in sort of drive out conversion, prob spent about another £300 maintaining i since (1000 miles) --- to be honest this was things like cambelt, water pump, sump gasket, sillicon hoses....

I try not to drive it to much but it is pretty nippy but as said before its not supercar power!!
