Big red is just another switched live. You don't need it...

The black did have a plug on it and it does click the relay right?

Well turn it on and off. Just making sure it'e the right wire before I tell you to do something silly... Yea, connect it to the black behind the kick panel. That way the ECU and fuel pump will trun off when you turn the engine off

As for the starter motor, you checked your battery volts? Your battery could be flat, or you starter motor could have had it.

It will be a bitch to change in the car...

Get a length of wire and connect it to the signal terminal on the starter motor, then connect it directly to the + on the battery, if it cranks over then you have a problem with your wiring.

If you can get it off then an electrician will be able to test it for you.

I had the same problem, was a loose connection... You using the Corsa loom right?

You fitted the wires to the alternator the right way round. If you haven't then your alternator will be warm. I made that mistake

Oh yea, top tip! Ground your alternator to the shell or ideally to the battery. My batt has gone dead because the alternator is not grounded too well in the Corsa as you only ground the engine at one point rather than 3
