I bought some 16.5cm front door speakers, they fit easily in the speaker hole, how ever cant see how to secure them on, the actual screw hole wont sit up against the surface of the door was it doesnt go that far back. A guy at said it had the same problem on his old cav and suggested I buy mounting pods, however i thought it was possible to fit them without under 17cm. Anyone help? Thanks.

use adaptors?
usually if you have an adaptor, the original 3 screws and washers go through the main body of the adaptor, then the speak sits in the adaptor and screw into its surround (you might have a 2 piece adaptor, in which case the outter ring screws into the main body, and the speaker screws into the outter ring etc)....

ur after 6.5" inch ones, which are 17cm
ive got some floating about (exact same ones), where i was planning to use 6.5" comps in the front, can have then for some mulla if you want
but yea, get some adaptors and then the speakers will fit fine - just need to make sure the mounting depth is below 64mm

Look, go to your local halfords, and ask for autoleads speaker adaptor SAK-3001.
These allow fitment of 13cm, 16.5cm and 17cm speakers with a but of pushing.
