Not if you don't like your bones.
Dampers will probably fail prematurely and it will drive terribly.

rear springs could possibly fall out when you jack up the rear
i found it to be a very bouncy ride, not harsh though, still quite soft.

They're designed to last maybe 50k miles, you might kill them in less.

In my younger days I had many a nova dropped 60mm on standard shocks and some of my driving was adventerous....cant say that my springs ever fell out...
You can have the back jacked up and the rear axle with no support underneath and the springs are still a snug fit.
Has anyone *ever* actually had the springs fall out or is this a tale thats been getting told for years..passed on from generation to generation

mine never fell out of their own accord, but you could pull them out when the rear beam was dangling. i guess it depends on the spring design.
my view on the situation is that if your short of money and its a debate wether to replace the shocks as well and could put up with the ride comfort, then leave the standard ones on untill they die, then uprate to better spec units.
if you don't get on with the ride or want better handling then swap for higher springs or get better shocks.

do what i done, buy the springs (i got 60mm) and put them on, i did about 500 miles untill i could afford a set of front dampers, then when i got enough money i brought the rear shocks.
