who has done this, what have you used to fill in kurb marks etc. what primer/paint have you used afterwards? doesnt have to be amazing, just want to sell it in a decent looking condition.

i do my wheels myself


use p38 bodyfiller to fill small kerb marks.
Halfords tinned primer and paint is what i use.Aerosol.
If u take ur time and have a bit of know how u can achieve a great finish with a can

i usually prep all 4 at same time.
prime and paint the 4 at the same stage so they are dry at the same time
about over an hour prepping the wheels,sanding etc.
then dust the primer on cloudy,repeat same again in 10 min stages until the wheel is covered.
do same with paint.
dont try cover the wheel in the one go as the paint will run

i might try this tomorrow as ive got some old calibra alloys i could have ago and then when i think iam good enough i could attempt my alloys which are on the car at the moment

might have to goto the scrappy and find 4 steelies to use while its being done, guessing I really need to have the tyre off to do it?

if you cut a load of cardboard squares, you can poke them between the rim and the tyre all the way around to mask off the rubber.
obviously if the kerbing goes deep then you wouldn't be able to get to it if it was under the bead of the rim.

aah, good idea myke, cheers well, I'm not looking for a 100% perfect finnish, just want it looking a bit more respectable when I sell it, most of the damage on the wheels is the paint chipped or scratched anyway
the isle of wight has small roads, big sharp curbs, so when ambulances come up behind you, theres no other option (mind you, I've never curbed my wheels for police tho )
