The purpose of "fog" lights are to light up the road markings in bad weather.

this has to be the most stupid thread ive ever read.
Your telling people how a fog light works
If they didnt know how a fog light works by now then they must be stupid.
And all fog lights iluminate the road you muppet.
Unless you just use your fog lights as wanker lights and drive around like a chav!

its poorly worded, but the fella wants to know what makes them so bright.
my guess would be the lenses... or that they arent any brighter at all. It just seems dazzling when someone is driving towards you in the dark with four headlights lighting up the way!

They point lower, There ment to shine under the fog rather than directly at it as fog is so thick with water droplets most light get reflected back otherwise

Fogs do shine stright ahead, Ur very right but thats why they ar at the bottom of the bumper and not next to the lights
