i'm looking at a cat 1 alarm but i can get one with £150 off but without fitting. would an autoelectrician be able to install an aftermarket car alarm? what is a rough cost?

Yes, an auto electrician will be able to do it... it's about 4-8 hours depending on what accessorys you need fitting, like extra sensors and central locking motors, fitting costs could vary between £100 - £500. You might be better off going and getting something like a Clifford or a Taod from a dealer becuase those alars come with fitting already included in the price of the actual alarm unit.
