Righto

I've just bought a Corsa. 1.4 16v Sport.

Seems in canny nick and reasonable mileage.

I was just wondering two things..

1) How well do the 1.4 16v engines respond to tuning? What sorta BHP increase would I be looking at with stainless steel exhaust, decat, boost valve, some head work and a decent induction kit (viper or similar)?
2) It has electric mirrors and electric windows but no power steering (96 model) - is it possible to fit a power steering rack? If so, how much hassle?

Cheers lads

tuning is ok, steering rack dont bother-would need new rack hydraulic lines, new v belt tensioner, pump, new v belt pulley. be a man and develop muscles

first you wanna get yourself a new inlet, dbilas or mantzel....that'll give you a good power gain, then think about other mods...

How much am I looking at for a new inlet?

Aye I thought a psteering rack would be a nightmare, but thought I'd ask anyway

How easy are the 1.4s to get to around 100bhp?

It's in decent nick though the placcy bit between the rear bumper and the boot lid is canny grey, dunno how well it'll 'back to black'. So we'll see!

Just got insured on it, picking it up tomorrow.

to be honest the first thing i'd buy for it is suspension... make it go around corners first before you make it faster

I'm definitely after a GSi kit I reckon.

Where's a good supplier for that?

Gimme some links to some sites which supply modded parts for Corsas 'cos I only really know Ford sites (Last car was an Escort.. don't kill me )

Um best to get secod hand GSi kit. Think you can buy it from Vauxhall but it will be very expensive.

I use rimstyle for all my mods etc now. Gary who works there is a member and they offer a fantastic service. www.rimstyle.com or .co.uk....i forget

Ah nice one.

ESP Design used to do RS bodykits etc for the Escorts; is there nowhere which does something similar (GSi kit for non GSi Corsas etc?)
