Thats more down to its grip rather than unbelievable power to weight ratio.
0- anything doesn't interest me (hence why I have a FWD car), on the road acceleration will be low in a scoob due to its cumbersome transmission (same as on a 1992 car!) incurring high losses, its greater weight to my car, and of course less power

BTW what is the terminal speed of a standard scoob on the 1/4 mile? They struggle to even hit 100 right? So thats 0-62 in 4.odd, but in 13 seconds its not even hit 100. Wow.

so define what you mean by fast then.. as i think that your statement "No standard Scooby is fast" is wrong

sure they are fast to launch, and get to 60 very quickly, but the 4WD soon saps any advantage when the speedo climbs

I've driven nearly every incarnation of the scooby. The most impressive I ever saw was the STi 6 Type R Ltd, which had some silly low ratios, exept 5th. Even when that had a 2.5 engine put in later in its life, it still couldn't come past me.
I'd consider a car of the Subarus size would need nearer 400bhp to be termed as a fast road car.
I remember somebody expaining how power to weight can be determined using terminal speed on the 1/4 mile, hence removing a cars "grip factor" from its time.
Any terminal speed over 110mph is a fast road car, 120mph is stupid, 130mph is bilistic, and anything over 140mph is prayer worthy!

Not disputing this but based on the above theory does that mean my car isn't fast?

I wasn't trying to say scoobs are slow, lets be fair they beat 99% of things on the road?
Just trying to put another side of the arument accross to steve
If hes like me he will want bangs for buck, and the cheapest way is the corsa IMO.
If he wants a bigger comfier car with a bit of prescence on the road the scoob is great

i would love a big silly car but i think im gonna have my fun with the corsa first.
i still havnt run it up the 1/4mile or even round any RaceTracks
i shall be on the lookout for a £300 shed and tune the corsa up over the winter months (also make it look very nice)
then have a wicked year next year with it.. then expect to see a thread like this same time next year
