Im really annoyed with the speed of my car 1.2 16v the fact my mate in a 1.1 8v can keep up with me i think its cause the 106 doesnt have anything in it in terms of wieght, now i can either get insured on a 1.6 this year like now, or wait till im 19 and get insured on a redtop ... ? what you all reckon

i recon you wait for a redtop.

spend this year getting parts and rebuilding on, then everything is rfeady for the conversion to be done in a weekend.

i wrote my 1st car off after 20mins of driving i dont know anyone who has done it quicker.

then some arse in a van decided to use the back of my corsa as a way of stopping but for some reason it puts my insurance up, evan tho i claimed off his wankers

as said above, wait till ur 19 for a redtop and use this year to get everything sorted and get the looks of ur car finished

I'd wait till you are 19 and get the redtop in your car. Should give you plenty of time to get parts and rebuild the engine to get yourself a reliable conversion

I like my car and would prefer to keep it, i could sell it now and get a 1.6 but i would prefer to get one put in mine,, i know it would cost more but i feel alot of work has gone into my car and i would rather keep it than sell it

Nah, honestly i'd wait.....will be more of a step up. I started with a 1.4 16v SRi at 17, then at 18 brought the Gsi, now i'm 19 i'm having the redtop! can't wait for it to be finished!!

dunno how people do it in a weekend though!!

i went from 1.2 8v to 1.2 16v to 1.3 diesel to 1.6 16v gsi, now im on 2.0 16 20xe.

do it progresively. ie wait a year
