thats well cute, whenever we leave her at night she barks like feck and then shits her cage by the morning, is this normal and what do you guys do at night

play with him alot, wear him out, make sure he has toys in the room to play with to keep him occupied....
I know its hard but if hes crying and crying resist temptation to go down there and make a fuss of him
Chaska (richies parents puppy) did it for ages, whenever he could hear people getting up he would howl and cry for attention, we all ignored him and he doesnt do it as much now

btw - we dont ignore him all the time  we play with him alot, then put them to bed, then if he crys we ignore him

This was my sisters puppy, he is a right little shite now!
How old is it? I expect its mainly as its just been taken away from its mother, so just put up with it and it will stop soon enough!

No cage for ours, we have a smallish room (about 10ft x 10ft) that him and his mum sleep in of a night, with a safety gate on the door frame to stop him escaping
IMO putting them in a cage over night isnt particually nice for the dog

This one didnt stay cute for long! Especially when he completely ripped up the lino in the kitchen........when we first got him he slept in parents room for the first week (think we did that with the older one too) then he seemed to be cool.
We also did what Ally said which worked.

she likes the cage for general sleeping and playing, its just night time that is a pain. She doesnt cry when she is in the cage just she shits in there

Dogs dont mind cages as they know its there bed. She must be distressed as dogs normally will not shit anywhere near there bed as they know to keep that clean.
Are you taking her outside before she goes into the bed/cage?

how long have you had her for
she probably shits in the cage because she doesnt know any better, she needs to learn (like all dogs) that they must do their business somewhere outside of the house, eg the back garden
So train her to go outside (remember it will take a while) let her go out for a wee before u put her to bed and let her out first thing in the morning (thats if shes had her jabs and can go out)
They also sell puppy training pads which encourage the puppies to wee on the pads, we used them for chaska and he uses them to go to the toilet
your best bet is to wait untill shes old enough and get her trained

As long as there are no other dogs she will be fine, just make sure there are no dangers outside

if u put a small clock/alarm clock in its bed/basket under a sheet that sometimes helps puppys when they are first took from their mothers as they relate the ticking to a heart beat

i know u haven't got a back garden but i'm a firm believer in dogs sitting/living outside - mine are outside every night no matter what and agreed at first he whined a bit but when he realised no 1 was coming he soon stopped and got used to it.
u can't cripple to the whining or temptation to go pamper him or they'll go fat. E-tec, willay, rus and rob b have seen my dog he lives outside, he's lean and mean and doesn't go all wet like these fat house dogs
oh yeah and to old to sleep outside, mine's slept outside in the back garden since birth.
