How much you pay?

Why you rebilding? Has it gone, or are you just wanting a mint engine? Plans for it?

I guess the box doesn't have a slip diff?

If it does do you fancy a swap on two F28's and a bit of cash?

Only way to tell is putting it on a car, jack the front end and turn one wheel.

If the other turns I think that means it HAS a slip diff.

If the other doesn't turn it doesn't.

I think thats right anyway, as when mine spins it lights up predomantly the passenger wheel, and the other doesn't spin. But when you have a slip diff it will leave 2 black lines and grip more.

all the 2 wheel drive conversion is is a seal that goes onto the driver side of the gearbox, one that takes the longer shaft. its the same seal that is on an f20 gearbox. i might have a pic of mine somewhere. the actual box itself isnt converted to anything as it still uses the 4x4diff just it isnt connected to a tranny box.

top tip if it isnt done already, you need to split the box and change the speedo ring on the diff itself, and also the cable drive on the box, the bit the speedo cable attaches to. the diff speedo ring is blue for the std cally 160mph clocks, you need a black one from an f20 and also the cable drive bit. ive done this twice now on 2 seperate f28's and theyre a twat to get back together.

as for checking for a lsd, if you jack the front of your car up so both wheels are off the ground and put it in nuetral, one wheel will spin the opposite to the other front wheel, with a lsd fitted, they both spin the same direction. as far as i know thats the only way to tell. thats what mine did anyway before and after the diff was fitted last week

my standard 1.4 corsa does that

also wheels turn by themselves if jacked up while idling, is that normal?

If you jack the car up and turn one wheel and the wheel on the other side turn in the SAME direction then you have an LSD, if the wheel turns in the opposite direction you have a std. diff.

The wheels will turn when the car is idling in neutral when the car is on a jack. Not sure why, it's just life.
