The top ends and head gaskets on Scoobys are usually pretty reliable y'know. Its the bottom ends on the pre version 7 cars that generally let them down. Either down to detonation or oil!

not had any problems with mine 94 wrx fsh its had a hell of alot spent on it by the first uk owner bills come up to 14k easy, brillient car cost me 4k i use it every day the cost to run it is unreal

i nearly bought a 98 uk turbo wagon in green...£5995 from a garage..

he said it's had alot of mods etc done to it engine wise and what i could see...well bye bye...

To be honest if you can't afford to spend £7-£10k on a (newer) Scooby, how are you going to afford an older one for about £5k + maintenance costs?

I was going to get a classic shape one myself in November but I'm not brave enough to part with my money for something that needs lots of £ spent on it!

You would be better off getting something like an Astra GSi or similar, cheaper to buy and cheaper to fix when something goes bang! You can't pick up replacement Scooby engines for £300 you know!

theres no point buyin one if ur gonna be constantly worried about it breaking cause u wont enjoy owning it
