I had a Alpine 9853 headunit in my car when it went to vauxhall for repairs 3 weeks ago. They damaged the front by covering it in glue. They say they have ordered a new one from the Internet but I have been waiting 2 weeks now

I asked for the old one back as I feel that it is still my property. They said no and that they would just scrap it. He refused to give it back to me so i want to know where I stand with this. They are saying that they are replacing it which doesnt give me the right to have the old one back. Is this true?

don't pay to get the old one back.
make them chase up the one they ordered.
speak to the manager if they're still playing silly buggers.

they should have gone direct to alpine for a new face anyway.

Just hold on and wait for a new one hu you never know they might get a better one

They are keeping the old one so you cant sell it or make some money back on it in anyway.

Was your hu old? at least you will get a new one

Well they said they have ordered the exact same model.

That was one of the excuses for not giving it back to me but they say they are going to scrap it but how do I know they wont make any money on it somehow by repairing it and selling it?

The other one was about 3 months old

Never mind what they do with it mate

at least you dont have to pay for it to be fixed! at the end of the day they broke yours and now have had to buy you a new one, so if they do pay to get the old one fixed then good on em.

The only bad thing is you have had to wait for your new hu

Why couldn't you keep it until your new headunit has arrived?

It didn't stop it playing CD's!

The whole unit, I have the standard cd player in there but they must of connected it wrong because only the left speakers work.
