I'm led to believe that the Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 will produce 200rms at 1,2,3 and 4 Ohms, and at 11.5-14.5volts.
ie, it is always 200rms no matter what ohms or volts it's running at.
Do you think 200rms is too much to run 90rms component speakers?
I thought it would be just the case of having the channel gains really low, but i'm not sure if i can adjust the gains at all seeing as it's advertised to run at 200rms regardless of the ohms/volts.

Id say it would be ok but be cautious and be aware that if anything did go wrong with the speakers you would have no warranty.
Gains will always be adjustable as level matching is always required on low level inputs.
JL Audio amps are regulated and they all have gain controls.
