Basically if the value in a cell exceeds 2500 i want it to cancel back down to 2500 and show up red.

Can this be done... please note it will go into said sell via another formula so it will come up as 2,801.33 i want it to then go to 2,500 and show up red.

Cheers

If it can be done, how?

to turn it red you need to use conditional formating. There are a number of ways to do the round down method but I would have to see your spread sheet. Use =rounddown(*cells and formula*,deciamal spaces ie 0)

i know the conditional formatting part for the red its the 2500...

i tried using Data>>>Validation>>Allow then decimel between 0 and 2500 but it doesnt work for a calculation only a direct input value

i'll try out ure method mate

u fucking legend
will this then carry on though as it being 2500 if i use that cell in a formula again...

so the cell value= G7*H$5% but if it is say 2900 it will go to 2500 so in the cell next to it i have C23/C22 or watever will it take C23 as 2900 or 2500

That one was to complex? I normally can only work things out when the spreadsheet is in front of me.

Do you do lookups? I amaze people with my skill with lookups.

That bird you u2u'ed me with, shes left my work now but we are still very good friends, I am going to the cinema with her on Monday in my Coupe.
