It says i need to format it but will this mean il lose all the data on it?
Ive tried with another disk and that say i need to format also but its a new disk, do you reckon my floppy drive is fucked?

Could be that the floppy disks your are using are fucked. Try another batch. If it still does it then probably a fucked drive

The new disk most likely isn't formatted to start off with.
You'll have to format to use it.
Yes you will lose all the data on it though
And geek day.

Right i tried it at work today and it works on their computer
But when i have to open it on their computer i have to open it using E: instead of A: so do you reckon thats why the files dont work on my computer?

Drive letter has nothing to do with it. Your drive it goosed. Email it to yourself, or put it in a USB memory stick, or write it to a CD or something.

I've had disks like that e-mail it to yourself or use a memory stick.
Avoid floppy disks, they are unreliable.

Floppy disks are the worst thing ever invented. Even a corsa is better than a floppy disk We get people sending them into us at work but half the time Royal Mails scanner wipes them!!

Or even transfer it to a phone, if you have a decent one!
My phone currently has about 40 times the storage capacity of a floppy disk, and can be upgraded to hold almost the same as 3 CDs!
