I have a corsa 1.4 sport and it has started to red line at 5000 revs. It used to go to 6 and a half so i dont know what is up with it.

Any advise please??

I had a diagnostic test the over day and it says that me car is running rich. Would that have anything to do with it?

but do you have a eml on? can you get a fault code off?

I might be being thick but what does eml mean??? and what do you mean by safety mode on the ecu??

eml = engine management light, with safety mode the ecu puts itself in 'limp home' mode where it caps the revs so not to damage the engine etc. it happens when certain sensors die or whatever
