i needed to do some work down my girl friends flat this weekend and i forgot to bring home of MS Office. so i decided to donwload open office and give that ago.

Ive gotta say im bloody impressed, i cant find any faults so far, and the best thing is its FREE.

Given this fact, im debating whether to purposly use this program full time in/out of work and possibly impliment it at work.. a saving of nearly £200 per PC is going to be a big saving.

Anyone else rate this?

Only problem I've found with it is password-protected files set up in MS Office, it doesn't like some of them...

None-the-less, it's what I use in work!

using it myself at work, and implimenting right the way accross the company are two different things.

But thanks for the info on the passwords, as we also use passwords. Perhaps i'll have to copy/paste into open office in order to convert (so to speak).

Last I read it was just going to be google branded.
There are issues with more complex word files and whole documents have to be re-done due to formatting errors.
Also takes a lot longer to open up larger word files.
