I hear that this is quite a common fault on Vauxhalls?

could be a fuse has gone or somthing

Yeh i think its the actual sensor thats broken - I have been told its quite common though?! Anybody else had that problem?! It wa reading sort of 75 in the Summer! Never had an accurate reading out of it though!

my mates used to read stupidly high in his corsa, it read about the same as the actual engine temp

You need to check/replace the ambient temperature sensor. It's normally located behind the front bumper on the passenger side.

Costs about a tenner for a new one from Vauxhall.

yeh in the summer i began to wonder if wires had been fiddled with and it was reading engine temp but now come winter it deffo cant be! may try gettin a new sensor from a scrappy and seeing what that does

I drove down to get those wheels off u when it was almost 45 degrees outside apparently! lol, dnt remember it bein that hot!
