Im sad today
On the way home from work i decided to change the cd in the headunit (Alpine cda-9835R)
For some strange reason it would only eject the cd half way out, so i gently pulled it out.
Then the headunit kept making this strange noise, trying to eject & take in a cd, it did this about 4 times then it said error on the screen!
But now i have to leave the headunit in my car all the time cos it won't tilt back to its normal position so i can remove the face off bit!!
Ive read my instruction booklet & it says to press the reset button with a ball point pen, which ive just done. It tryed to eject & take in a cd again 4 times then it switched itself off!!
Oops i think ive totally broken it!!
It won't even let me change the source so i can listen to cd's from the changer or even listen to the radio!!
The most annoying thing is, is that ive just had it exactly 13 months so i can't even send it to Alpine now for repairs
Has anyone got any ideas what i can do? Before i take it to someone to be posted off for repairs.
Maybe i'll have to ask santa for a new one

Well thanks for your replys!
I don't really fancy tapping or smacking the unit to see if works again
So ive found a repair place nearby thats gonna hopefully fix it for me on saturday!
Ive tried to take the face off bit off again, but it doesn't seem to want to come off at the angle its at
Lets hope no one decides to break into my car for it!

You would rather pay 50 quid than give it a smack for free
