There doesn't seem to be many options for just replacing the inlet manifold on a 2.0 16v Vauxhall engine. The only options I can see are the Dblais set ups and a throttle body set up.

Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it just because no one can be arsed to make one as a fair bit of thought would need to go into one or is it because the manifold is pretty good stock?

Stock item is very very good and no need to really change them.
a LET can run upto about 450bhp on the standard inlet so getting a XE anywhere near that is not going to happen.
SO standard intake is best (unless you got multi throttle like carbs or bodies)

You can get uprated ones but there not that good or worth the money

So there would be no real point in putting the effort into engineering a similar Mantzel type affair for the engine?

Would be thinking of using a barrel throttle body coulpled onto a main plenum with 4 trumpets going to the head with injector bosses if you get what I mean....

No point in it mate.
the standard XE inlet it a ace design and not worth playing with.
The reason the 1.4 and 1.6 work so well is in the org design on the engines loyus helped and in the end it was giving the same bhp as the 2lt 16v so vauxhall had to de-tune the engine and one of the main things was a 7foot manifold.

Thought that, may be the case due to the lack of products on the market...

i'm planning on having a go at a custom one n the new year.
i've got a spare standard inlet, a v6 throttle body, and a sheet of 4mm ally which are saomehow gona be bastardised together.

may not be effective but at least you'll then be able to say it definately wont make a difference.

i would only bother on a let, and if it was gonna be running mega power. theres that cav turbo running phase 5 i think. 392 brake anyway in a standard inlet..

although when i was gonna build my let i was contemplating an rs500 inlet manifild with 8 injectors and a large throttle body.. but i was planning on running about 36psi of boost!
