I'd take an iPod any day of the week over a Walkman. The the hardware and software work to gether brilliantly and both are so easy to use. Plus you can watch video on the new iPods

I don't want videos or anything, I just want something to replace my 10 year old Sony CD player and something I can hold in my hand whilst I go jogging.

yeah no need for movies imo, would get eye strain, bit of a gimmick is mp4's

I'd go for the iPod. Infact, I had the same choice and I did. Great value for money and iTunes is superb.
