I'm setting up a basic site (and i mean basic). I've gone through the wizard for setting up the site but every user who tries to browse to the page gets the "you are unauthorised to view this page"

So the connection is there, its just permissions on the site. I;ve gone through it and kind find where to change this.

Any ideas?

You can edit what the root file is in the IIS snapin, Directory browsing is a big no no when it comes to web servers unless you have a specific purpose for it.

I wouldn't say so as at best that is security through obscurity. If anything shouldn't be viewed it needs to not be in the dir, not masked with an index page.

It might be security through obscurity although every little helps.

Thats only so search engines don't spider the images, there's nothing in that dir that isn't linked from owners db etc.
