drove home the other night and as i was in a rush (urgent toilet moment im sure you've all been there) i pull the car up sharply whipped up the handbrake and heard a clang noise and the handbrake went right to the top and promptly rolled off when i turned off! so im guessing the cables either snapped or come loose.
can anyone tell me how i go about sorting it as there is no cover on the inside of the car its just carpet so i cant get to it!
is it a hard job to sort out or can it be DIY'D?
cheers

You get to it from the underside of the car, its not an easy job but can be done yourself, get a haynes manual for your car, it will help no end! Me and my Dad replaced the longer cable last week, took us around 1 and half hours I think.

Mine has literally just done this an hour ago... Cable is £15.80 from vauxhall
Bit of a mare to change, you'll have to remove drum etc to remove/refit new.

ok so i got underneath and checked it all and it doesnt look like tha cable has snapped anywhere!
it looks like its come away from the handbrake handle itself!
so anyone know how to reconnect it or what i should be looking for?
i cant see how it would connect or what is supposed to connect to it!?!?
