bought satnav, had to recconect my cigarette lighter thingy, but, i lost the magic clips somewhere, so i now have 4 M6 bolts securing my ash tray
where can i rewire the ligher socket to so i can get rid of my ashtray again?

do you have a stereo or any of the stereo loom remaining? wire the live to the yellow on the stereo loom and earth the other sumwhere, the yellow is only live when the ignition is on

i have the actua;l wires for the cigarette lighter still, i just need to move it so its not in the ashtray, as i never use the asshtray so its pointless

i blew a PDA up doing this!! it has to go through the cig lighter plug there is a step down transformer thingy in there!!

with a soldering iron and some wire you can hard wire the connector onto a 12v switch live, not very difficult to do really, but dont just cut the cig lighter connector off as said above you will need to step down from 12v to 5v or somwhere around that figure.
