MOT expires 23rd of FEB 06

If I got a new MOT on the 18th Jan, will it extend til the 23rd Feb 07 OR 18 Jan 07?

It runs till a year after u get given the certificate

depends, if you get it done 18th Jan, it will only run until 18th jan 2007. If you get it done 24th Jan I think (they either say month or 28 days before its due to run out) it will last until 23rd Feb 2007

if u take ur old mot to the test station they can add it to upto a month before so u can get it done on the 18th of jan and it will run out on the 23rd feb next year
i do this with all my cars so i no im not going without mot if it needs things doing

Yea, which is why I said getting it sone on the 18th of Jan will only last until 18th Jan 2007, due to them bring able to do it a month in advance. If you have the MOT done on the 23rd/24th of Jan, it will then last unitl 23rd Feb 2007 as long as you take your last certificate along to prove it.

Yeah has to be under a month before


So mine runs out the 23rd Feb 06

If I go anytime after the 24th Jan 06 I'll get it for the 23rd Feb 07

yes mate you keep original certificate and they give you a new valid for year - its all computerised too - no hand written certificates anymore

my dad owns an MOT test centre, the date of next MOT is usually a year to date. could be a different exiery date though. dont pay much attention,

if take th car in 30 days or less before its due they will give you until the date its due and then a year if you get what i mean

Yeah I did it when i sold my corsa mate
You keep the original as its dated until its expires then the new certificatye runs from this date

My mot guy used to post date the certificate, so that when the old one runs out the new one kicks in for 12 months
