Got my Mantzel fitted now. Also fitted a Janspeed 4-2-1 manifold and a de-cat pipe.
Anyone with similar mods tell me what their BHP is. Engine is X16XE.
Also, i know it needs management, but would it be worth running bigger injectors and a boost valve with the above mods?
Cheers All.

no need for bigger injectors till you get throttle bodies, also no need for boost valve.
id say 125bhp

So with a Mantzel, decat and mainfold you reckon 125bhp? Seems like a nice power increase does that

would a mantzel copy give same power increase as real thing ?
doubt many of us have £1000 for an inlet
(im thinking of ways to make the 1.8 astra a bit quicker when i get it)

Broster, Matty. Thanks for the info.
125BHP would do me just dandy
It's amazing how much better the car pulls right the way round. For the money, definately the best thing to start with!
Broster, is it you with the 180BHP 1.6? Whats the spec!

Id be happy with 125bhp did you fit it all together or in progressive stages , thinking about getting a manifold at the end of the month but was wandering if you really felt the difference

Broster, thanks i'll take a look.
Rob B - I got a load of compo for when a tw4t in a land rover decided to write off my paxo head on.
I put the Mantzel on first, £520 from Mantzel in Germany.
Then the de-cat, £60 Demon Tweeks, then the Manifold, £200 from Tweeks also.
The Mantzel made a hell of a difference, no lag all the way to the restrictor, it shot up that quick that i couldn't keep up!
The de-cat made it better mid range, and opened it up more at 5k. The manifold has just given it the finishing touch all the way through. Car revs much more freely now and it is so much quicker it's un real!
Spend the MONEY!!!

I was thinking of getting a re-map done.
Can i remap my existing ECU, or do i have to spend another 600 quid on an ECU and rolling road session?

Well currently i have a DBlias and a De-cat and a drilled airbox, so was wandering if the manifold makes much difference, mine doesnt seem to pull much low end ...dunno if thats the dblias or becuase the eml is on but when it picks up it flies

I know what you mean about flying!! I would spend the money a the ex. manifold. It does help.
ATM you are through a standard one, doesn't help i wouldn't think. It's sucking in but not getting rid.
The EML light shouldn't come on if the EGR has been plumbed back in. Mine only comes on when i boot it for long periods. A mechanic I use, works on GT cars and he is very good. He spoke to Mantzel, and the EML is coming on because the inlet temp sensor gets knocked out of sync. This is due to the amount of air which is getting sucked in.
Oh yeah, forgot. Apparently with the Mantzel a 4-2-1 is best, as it gives bottom and midrange.

The EML will be the intake temp sensor. The MAP shouldn't be affected as it runs of vacum. Unless you have a leak?
I just got the first manifold to hand. Couldn't wait
How much is autosprint?

eml is likely to be the egr. unlikely to be the intake temp sensor. egr faults are common on these engines whenm a new inlet is fitted.
