no, its shit. there is nowhere near as much stuff to do up here as there is in other areas of the country, lots of really scummy areas, low paid jobs, high numbers of unemployed and kids growing up in poverty. generally, people in the north east have a lower I.Q than the national average and perform poorly in education.

apart from that, its great

yeah was going to say people tend to attack the north east for its economy in general, and the people who live here, not for the lack of pretty pictures.

my main thing i dislike about living up here is how little there is to do compared to other places i have lived.

ive lived in lots of places, mainly Cardiff (my home town) and bristol.

there is just so much more to do! ffs, the entertainment buisness in the north east thinks that peoples lives end at 11pm! in both cardiff and bristol you can go out for a meal anytime of the day or night, go to the cinema or bowling at 3 in the morning, shops are open (like metrocentre type places) are open till 10pm most nights (we only get that at crimbo) and there are loads more inner city parks, places to go, cleaner streets,....

and people have a more positive, happier, easy going attitude. not just moaning about closing the mines and shipyards and sitting on their arse on the dole ever since.
