dont think there are pics in my garage!
ive got them on disc il try and find them and upload them!
as as ash said its all MDF pretty much a tiny bit offiller to get some shape to it but the rest is MDF!
the main box is under the sub, and is the correct size as stated by JL, there is 2 boxes almost, due to the magnet being soo big i had to put a smaller box into the footwell to get it level with the boot line!
the box is made from 18mm MDF and glued and screwed together and sealed with silicone, and the top part is a mixture of different thinckness MDF stuck together with the good old trust glue gun: thumbs:
il try find those pics for ya!

yes i make all my installs door builds etc
right heres a few progress pics, not got all the stages but heres a few:
1st i built the box for the sub as that was gonna have to be that size no matter what:
this pic shows the box on the bottom i had to add to fit the magnet in, ignore the top opart that was a fibreglass effort that was crap and binned!
next i made the side panels and then i knew what room i had to play with and then knocked up the bottom and sides of the amp part and decided on the angle i wanted them:
then i just filled in the bits were it needed to be filled up and blanked off etc, and got the screen mounted in properly:
then i added a bit of filler to get some areas smooth and level etc, with being trimmed and foam padded i didnt matter if it was perfect:
then the final pics before trimming, had added the neon holder/blanking panel for the back of the seats etc:
then obviously the pic at start of the thread was how it ended up
hope that helps abit!

Fear thats an excellent example of a boot build. I am needing to sort mine out and that has given me some inspiration for what to do with mine but slightly different so as that its not a blatant copy!
Was it not hard work if you needed to change a rear light bulb or needed to get to the spare wheel? Think I would need to make mine a bit easier to take apart if I needed to

I am going to make a blatant copy I dont care pmsl same equipment too
Would the sound quality be better if you not only put sound deadening in the boot but inside the sub box too or would they muffle the sound for want of a better word?

I've never heard of anyone putting sound deadening in the box? Only wadding!
Mine might be quite similar to Fears but will be Alpine V12 amps & sub that I allready have

Yes people put wadding in sub boxes. I have some in mine and I think it makes the sound alot better. Someone will be able to explain why this is, TBH I'm not sure why, I just know it works

Think I'm gonna also make some hidden storage space for a decent wheel brace, jack and a few other tools to be carried in for emergencies as the standard stuff in the wheel well is shite

as for a spare wheel
come on you cant be serious, you wnat to be able to take it all out, so when you get a flat and its raining your gonna take it all out and leave it on the side of the road whilst you change the wheel!
get a can of tyre weld and ditch the spare
nad as for changing a bulb its not hard at all, you just pull the bit with amps on and put it on top of the back seats then take a side panel out, bout a 5 min job rather than 2 min! and really how often do you change them!
and as for sound deadening, if your gonna do an install even half as good as mine you are an idiot if you dont pay that couple of hundred quid more for it as it makes a BIG difference, and dont be shy with it either!
i got 20 rolls in mine and could have used at least another 6-8!
and if people wannna copy its not that much of a problem but its better to put your own spin on it!

I dont think it'd be that hard to make it so it can be lifted out to get to the spare wheel... when I've had a flat tyre in the past I've taken my install apart and put it on the back seat, didn't take long as I left enough length on the speaker wires, power cable etc. so that I didn't have to undo them all That was when I decided I was glad I hadn't made my spare unaccessible!
Allready have my boot sound deadened too so thats ok

if your making a box like mine though you need the spare wheel well free to fit the extra little box in on the bottom!

Yeah I discovered I might not be able to do it there as the magnet on my sub is too big without going into the wheel well as you say. Got a slightly different design I am working on now
