would a ecu from one 1.4 sport 1998 fit another 1.4 sport 1998 with no trouble

wud of thort so cos there al factory made ecus to cope an manage the 1.4sport so they shud im theory b the same

should be ok as long as you get the matching chip and transponder. otherwise you wont get it started due to the built-in immobiliser

As Dave (corsa808) says. No problem in the compatability, but MAKE SURE you get the matching chip (from out of the key) and the transponder (from around the ignition barrel) for the new ECU from the donor car setup. Otherwise when you try to run your engine setup with the new ECU and your old ECU's coded chip and transponder... your ECU light will flash repeatedly upon ignition. That being the built-in ECU immobilisor kicking in.

Think the immobilisor prevents the fuel pump from working. Hence no VROOOM! IMAO. Or is it the sparking system is stops? One of the two.

Yeah true. Or get on without an immobilisor as standard or modified that way.

ive got a question on ecu's aswell. i took my ecu out of my old 1.4 corsa 8valve will it fit into my other 1.4 8valve. theyre both L reg. reason is i think my old one may have been chipped by the guy i bought it from and i wanna see if it makes a difference
