Thinking of upgrading a friend of mine's suspension setup by replacing her 1.2 merit suspension with my SRi standard suspension kit, she currently has 15" alloys on.
I would like to replace the standard springs with lowering springs, in order to lower on just springs alone, how much drop would you recommend - I was thinking about 30-40mm on uprated lowering springs?
Please advise.

sounds fine as long as your dampers are in good condition.

i think thats as low as u can go with out buying upgraded shocks. id save up a bit more and get the full kit and slam it 60 - 70mm. i droped mne 40mm and dint make much diff so then went down to 60 and its much better. jus my opinion though lol

I think in this day and age 60mm around where I live is just not acceptable on these roads with speedhumps that are getting bigger by the day, also not to mention potholes!!

i had to sort my suspension, the valver sump would have been knackered in minutes if i left it as it was

I think 40-50mm is enough, anything more is just too harsh and too much high risk of knackering parts on your car and reducing the life on the wheel bearings
