i have my webspace and the ftp program,i just want to upload and host images.but when i try to add them its not working.How do people get those pages which are a big long list of files.its asking for an ideax page.but i dont want to upload a site?

I use internet Explorer to Ftp music to my site.
Just type in "ftp.domain name.co.uk (e.g ftp.aj-productions.co.uk)
Then login in. The you can drag and drop the files you want onto your web server.
Say for example if you put an inage called 1.jpg on there.
People would usually have to type in www.yourdomainname.co.uk/1.jpg to see if in their browser

If it's saying that you need to upload an index page, then it could mean that your webhosts have disabled directory-listings as a security-precaution...
You'd need to create an index page, and link to each image-file from it...
