I resently brought a 1000w amp, im not sure which make but I connected it all up and the main power lead was corroded. So I brought another one from halfords for £34.99. Now theres power comming through the power lead from the battery to amp but the amp isint putting its power out if you know what I mean.
It worked im my mates car, but it has been sitting in his house for 2mounths.
Any ideas? thanks

there should be 3 cables going throught the car to the amp - power, remote and phono.
Youve obviously got the power but there should also be a blue cable running from the Head unit to the amp, this sends a signal from HU to amp to tell it when to switch on and off, and again phono from HU to amp to send sound.
Do you have all three of these???

might be worth checking the power and remote cables to make sure that they havent been damaged - there was a similar thread not long ago where the fella checked the remote cable and it been broken by a screw

My headunit has 2 remote outputs and one doesnt have enough volts to turn the amp on lol. Check to see if there is another remote output

All you can do is check the remotes on the right one coming from the headunit and that its all ok down the side of the car. And check its connected up right. Also check the earth as if thats dodgy it wont work at all.
