what is that for?
most points are spent after 3 years but still have to declare for 5 to insurance

with most points you can apply to get them off your license after 3 years but wont come off until 4yrs passes (think Ive got that right). Depends what you did though.
Whatever the time limit I think you have to apply to get them off your license, as will need them off the printed version.

after 3 years u can apply for them to come off but its 5 years u have to declare them to insurance

They're never totally gone.
I got stopped in January and the copper enquired as to the nature of the points I had received 15 years prior.
They count as far as totting up etc for three years.
You can have them removed (at a cost) from your licence after four years.
Most insurance companies take into account any endorsements from the previous five years.
It's a big sh*t sandwich I know, and we've all got to take a bite.
