quick question.

a 1990 calibra 2.0 16v engine in a 2000 corsa.

what would the emisions go as? the age of the engine or the shell?

Some places will want you to prove the age of the engine ie: log book from the donor car. Other places will just have a look in a book i suppose, but maybe cant obvisously pin point the exact date its made.

XE blocks have a date on the casting, just above the sump seal, but its for when the block was cast i believe.

mine has an 89 c20xe from a gte in, and the mot station said it needed one because they test it on the year of the vehicle not the engine

im 99% sure it goes off the engine. Especially seen as mine doesnt even have a lambda sensor would be nice to get it official in writing tho.

it doesn't matter, cause a 2L 16vcorsa isn't onth emissions computer, so it has to be tested as the basic emission test not the CAT test.
