what happens with the mot does the car go under as a 2.0 or a corsa
what happens with stuff like brakes,emisions

as long as the brakes work and emissons are under what they should be except on a K reg it will be fine

but surely the emissions on a 2.0 xe and say a 1.0 corsa are different

mot goes on age of engine so if engine is older than when cat regulations came in it will be fine...

can't remeber exact year...

mot are computerised now so the information given to the mot tester will be that as the dvla have, so if your car aint down as 2ltr would imagine it will not pass mot on emissions.

dont hold me to this as a defo but thats how i think it works now

Just tell the DVLA the engine came out of an astra GTE that was made before cats were the law

k reg was the start of the CAT's s0 1991/1992 or 93. we always just used to go of the year of the car. its all done on pc now mots tho my old boss was tellin me.

that was the mistake my bro in law was making when he was moting my old 2.0 corsa, going on age of car..i said no age of engine...they checked and read up on it and it was 'deffo' age of engine....not age of car...

as for now with it being all computerised i don't know what change that will make....

mine was not registered as a 2.0 at the time of mot...

dont think dvla will give a toss, they'll be the 1's telling you wether it sud have a cat or not

It is all computerised as already said, the MOT tester now inputs the VIN number into the computer and it brings up the car eg, make, model and engine size so f the car aint registered as a 2ltr it WONT pass you will NEED to contact the DVLA and tell them of the engine swap

mine just passed under the new mot rules etc and i ent sent log book off yet. is'nt it ministry of transport check not dvla or is it same company

mind u i have sports cat so emissions were fine

What sort of price do people pay for insurance on a 2.0 corsa at 20 with 2 years NCB?

Thats with TB's etc & everything declared. Third party fire & theft.

dont worry about computeriseation at mo as the computers are not linked to the emmisions machines yet . just make sure you tell them year of engine .
