can anybody please tell me the difference between these: obd1, obd2, tech 1, tech2?

the tech 1 and tech 2 are plugged in to the diagnostic plug. this checks for any faults on the cars electrical system. The tech 1 is the early version and the tech 2 is the latest version. Don't know what an obd1 & 2 are though.

o b d = on board diagnostics
just a name for the diagnostics plug
