if you are going to use it for track days then I would get a proper cage that will protect you fully. As its a daily drive as well I would also check with your insurance that they will cover you, as most wont.

Show cages in my mind are pointless and far too expensive for what they are

pro's - shiney, good looking, still strong (fusion ones are alot better than the seatbelt bolt in dimma's), can be tailored to suit yourself, fusion can do full cages. also know that one saved a customers life in an astra turbo once.
con's - get slated for having a fake cage, not fia etc approved, not weld in, probs not as strong.
wouldnt make it from exhaust tubing though!

In my opinion show cages are a complete waste of time & money, if you want a cage get a real one.

why i can show you pictures to show how a cage the same design as mine and martins saved my mates life.
The dimma ones are waste of time and dangerous in my eyes!
The stripped out rear with a bolt in show cage is just as good as a real cage.
Yeh there not FIA aprooved, they look prettier and are strong as hell
thankyou
james - go for a full one chap if you want that look, or a mirror finsih stainless one if thats more you?

I just feel that if you`re going to fit a roll cage then it`s there as a safety feature, that`s just my opinion as I help a mate with his & others rally cars.

First time I ever heard the phrase, I was completely baffled.
Couldn't believe that there was enough stupidity in the world for an idea like this to surface.
Seems to me that a show cage is about as usefull as a show engine or some glass tyres.

As for comments that show cage will kill you - think again!
pmsl! maybe you think again, iv seen show cages that cost silly money that have little alan key bolts holing them to flimsy tin seat mounting points, joints in the main hoop with no welds etc! a show cage is made from something shiney. it will break and stab you thru the head.
