i think people should pay £600 on 4x4's and farmers who actually require them should get a subsidy (sp)

Don't agree with it tbh, surely there is another way to get some extra money

Charge everyone an extra £1, revenue from that would be enough.

It shouldn't be about whether you "need" one. You should be allowed free choice of what car you want to buy. A 4x4 driver has as much right to use the road, and thus should be charged the same as any other motorist.

take the other view. if I was to be in a crash I would rather it be in a big car than a small piece of shit like a saxo or corsa.

it all stems down to mums protecting their kids

the husbands that buy these wifes the 4x4's are usually working down london or abroad and don't ever see em

well thats the case round here, is how u end up with pompus women, all they know is their husbands money and looking after kids, so they probably don't give a fcuk anyway

It's got nothing to do with that. It's to do with emissions. If your Corsa had a 5.0 V8 in it it would be in the same tax band as a Hummer.

The CO2 emissions of a 1.4 corsa twinsport are: 142g/km

That means that it fits into tax band C, the price for 12 months tax for band C is £100, £5 less than last year

As well as having to pay road tax i also have to pay to park on my own street. And my street parking expiry ends today so i have to move my car somewhere now. Because i dont have the money to pay again
