looking for a brake upgrade, im currently using ate 2 litre callipers, brembo discs and mintex pads. stopping power is very good, I want more though.
was looking at the reylands or wilwoods or hi-spec.
any reccomendations?

drove a corsa with v6 brakes. was ok but too much pedal trave for my liking and ive got abs on mine so it will be even worse

i like my reylands, no fade all day at anglesey. There not the lightest callipers out there tho.

mine used to be a 1.0 12v so no abs here! saved me life a few times in the gsi though.
anyway, back to the subject, i suppose it depends on how much your planning to spend? you could try and find some saab aero brakes (4pots) or go for the hi-spec route

brakes - saab 93 aero front discs and calipers

they aint exactly heavy though... i'd say the 2 calipers wieghed the same as 1 v6 caliper...
you'll need 16"+ wheels to run them aand they are over £700.... good aul brakes as the same...
to be honest mate... id just keep the 2.0's... cheap and chearfull...

the reason i said that is cos when i got my reylands i only had them on about 2 months and i started to question my sanity buying 700 brakes... that i really didnt need... they were complete over kill
the 2.0 setup i have on there at the moment works fine...
the whole reason for keeping the corsa is for cheap thrills....

if its just a road car i agree, stay with the 2l ones. if not then £700 is well worth it.

My v6 brakes are ok, they stop, but spongey as fook sometimes. A good investment buying some reylands- if you have the cash to splash

Reylands compared to the 256mm gte setup...
Behind 17's...
Not had chance to use them much yet cos the car has been offroad for ages, butvery pleased with them

reyland disks compared to V6 288mm jobbies
behind mm t12's... and they just BARELY fitted behind them 1mm of clearance
these are great great brakes... the dude i sold them to just couldnt believe the difference they made to his car(corsa 2.0 on tb's 190BHP)
as i said above though you dont need them... if you must and only if you must... v6's yes they are spongy... but farking hell they stopp you in a hear beat.... well they did when they were on my corsa and they are on the girlfriends tigra and are great... actually there is no really spongy pedal on her car at all i dunno why that is...
for the car you have now... the 2.0's should be fine.... again this is what i think you may have different requirments...

my V6s have never been spongey, neither are brosters, maybe the 1.4 16v servo can handle them and others cant, i can understand abs affecting it, but like i say, mine have been spot on, only had them fade once
