Dads property has a huge garden (did have planning for 4 3 bed houses to be built).
hes now decided he doesnt want to do this now and wants to extend his house and make the whole place nicer in general.
was looking at a local place who has just built a load of log homes, so i thought id have a look at the cost.
for a basic 2-3 bedroom place fully built its only around 30-40k and as we have the land thought it may be a good idea. take a look here...

Ive just this week finished building oen - They're good and simple enough to put up - instructions are shit - but they got raiend on on first day so did it blind
few bit dont make sense until you get to the very end of the build, once youve built one you'll understand - and do it better the next time
the main key point is that the ground plane it sits on needs to be perfectly flat, the plinths the cabin sits on cant waiver at all

the one I've built is only a twin room jobby, with Veranda and 1.5 high ceilings; so you couldnt exactly use it - its been built as an office for the business - but the principles are the same from the smalelst to the biggest
theres minimal reworking of the pieces; the only nailing or gluing is for the roof slats and floor boards
infact the only two pieces I had to cut down were the final floor board and a piece of the hand rail on the veranda

but they're not rocket science, you just need patience
also invest in the better roof tiles option - they finish the job off - some come with just felt sheeting - however we went for felt underlay and a slate tile top layer
