it was an optional extra as my ex birds sport was a 96 and that has PAS.
Mine doest have PAS and even with the 20XE its fine the only time I wish I had it is when parking in London. Plus at higher speeds car feels more stable without PAS to be honest.
Mine didnt have PAS but had a passenger airbag

Id not want one without PAS tbh, parking is a cunt and i cant see why you would want to prove how manly you are when by not having power assisted steering? Id just say your silly.

the only punto i've driven had speed sensitive city mode so it went back to normal once you went above about 20mph.
