I can live with that, i hope you can too.

Rus obviously didn't want to take the risk of not registering, so it should not be a problem and i assume everyone is happy and a little more enlightened.

You're right and i'm bored so i'm going to try and explain things a bit more...

Apple make an iPod Nano.
Apple sell the iPod Nano to Argos. 12 months warranty begins...
iPod Nano sits on shelf in Argos for 3 months.
Rus buys iPod Nano.
9 months pass by.
Rus's iPod Nano ceases to function.

Rus has 2 options:
- Rus returns iPod Nano to Argos.
- Rus returns iPod Nano to Apple.

Assuming Rus returns his iPod Nano to Argos, providing he produces a proof or purchase, Argos will repair/replace it free of charge. If Rus doesn't have a proof of purchase, he has only 1 other option - manufacturer.

Rus returns his iPod Nano to Apple. Apple tell Rus that his iPod Nano's warranty expired 3 months ago. This is because Rus did not register his purchase with the manufacturer. Rus is stuffed.

But we know that Rus registered his iPod with Apple. Apple repair/replace it free of charge as Apple database has been amended to show that the iPod Nano was infact purchased by Rus 3 months later than Apple originally thought...

yeah but if he returns it to argos, they send it to apple who repair it under the manufactures warranty anyway, its not like argos can repair the item them selves so they take all the details write them down and send them off with the ipod to be fixed by apple.

thats an agreement between apple and argos though which they would of entered into when becoming an official supplier for them. It has nothing to do with the manufacturers warranty.
