They are solid engines... i've got a 1.5td with 120k on the clock and they're not speed machines but they're not slow either... whatever you do don't get the 1.5d though... they are slow as f*ck. The 1.7d is supposed to be slow as well, don't know much about the 1.7td other than ideally its near enough the same engine as the 1.5td

I have heard that with any vauxhall diesel if that fuel pump goes then it's a bout £600 or something daft like that to replace?

The izuzu motors are very moddable.
Just wack the fueling and boost up,lol

vauxhall still use isuzu engines including the 1700s in the newer cdti range. can easily see 100 bhp out of the old 1.7td lumps, there is a guide in diesel tuning on howto turn up the boost on the 1.5td engines and exactly the same applies for the 1.7td. IF you do carry out the conversion, you need a flywheel from a diesel corsa b (different size)

1.5 and 1.7 n/a or Turbo are the same exactly just the bore and stoke are different but the power of 1.7 turbo is tremendous when tuned up
!!!high Torque !!! yes you have to change fly wheel or machine it and there is bracket at the back of the block y have to grind it out due to gear mechanisim !!!
