have a few PCs networked, they can all talk etc.
ive created a shortcut from each of the HDs to each other, and can access them fine, and super quick, but if i try to go into my network places and through the workgroup i get an hourglass and it takes aggggges.

does anyone know why it would do this?

DNS.

Try putting the hostnames and IPs in your /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file.
